I gues thats what many french fans and fans (incl. my dad) of Zinedine Zidane thought..

When the (ex-) french international got send of the field with a red card in the 20th minute of the extra time in the worldcupfinal against Italy.

For headbutting Materazzi.This supossed to be a farewell in style, but not like this..

Nobody wants to end his carreer ( 86 goals, 108 matches for national team with 31 goals, 3 times best football player of the world, winning the world cup in '98 and the european championship in 2000 and many more..) like this...

But then again it was his own stupid fault....Even Italiangoalkeeper Buffon went to Zizou with the question..perche? And you could see Zidane saying.. je ne sais pas...

And the whole thing gets even a more bitter taste.. because France lost with penalties from Italy..

C'est tres tres triste... mais c'est la vie....
